Lions
Like Cheetahs and Leopards, Lions are in the Felid Family. However, they are part of the Big Cats, specifically the Roaring Cats Genus, Panthera. They are listed as Vulnerable to extinction.
Many excellent Conservation NGOs are working to protect lions. One of the best is the Lion Recovery Fund. What I especially like is that they support lion-focused conservation all over Africa. I also like the simple clarity of their mission: Double the number of lions by 2050.
The Lion Recovery Fund is one of several funds supported by the Wildlife Conservation Network (WCN). You can’t go wrong donating to WCN to know your money will be used well for work on the ground.
Panthera works to protect cats large and small all over the world.
